సోలమన్ మైర్

Solomon Mire was born in Harare, Zimbabwe. He has represented Zimbabwe in the junior and senior levels. Mire is a right-arm medium pacer and a decent lower-order batsman. He played for the Under-19 national side before making his First-Class debut for Centrals. His first game was in the Logan Cup, where he was up against Westerns.

Mire, produced some consistent performances in the 2013-14 domestic season, hence getting a place in the Zimbabwe side for the tour of Bangladesh. The allrounder played all five matches and found it difficult to translate his First-Class outings at the international stage. However, the selectors persisted with him and picked him in the 15-man World Cup squad for Australia.

He was also picked by the Big Bash franchise, Melbourne Renegades, but played only a single game in the whole tournament. Mire's dip in form post the 2015 World Cup saw him dropped from the squad, but the aggressive all-rounder's consistency in the domestic circuit helped him fetch a place just before the Afghanistan series in February 2017.

Mire's once-in-a-lifetime knock came against Sri Lanka in Galle in June 2017 where he smashed a 96-ball 112 to chase Sri Lanka's 316. As it turned out, it happened to be Zimbabwe's first win against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka and was also the highest total ever chased in Sri Lanka.

Interesting Facts: Mire has been nicknamed \"Solz\". He wants to be a pilot if he doesn't make it as a professional cricketer.
Mire's role model is the Australian speedster, Brett Lee whom he admires for his speed, style and consistency.
While playing for a Darwin club called Waratahs, Mire scored a record 260 off 157 balls, the knock included 13 fours and 21 sixes.
